The successful candidate will gain a wide range of experience in clinical specialities that include Frailty, Acute admissions, Surgery and Medicine. They will be supported in their development towards meeting the RPS Foundation Framework standards and we will be able to support shadowing opportunities with specialist clinicians within the rotation to support continued learning.

Main duties of the job
- Providing pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards
- Participating in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level
- Day to day working with the Medicines Management Technicians
- Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff
- Educating patients about their medicines
- Participation in clinical audit
- The post holder will be required to participate in late night and weekend working
- This role includes on-call duties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To clinically review prescriptions in both the ward and dispensary environments.
- To provide specialist pharmaceutical advice
- To accurately dispense and check prescriptions in the dispensary
- To conduce medication reviews at admission and discharge and implement changes to medicines as necessary and to accurately communicate these changes to primary care colleague

Essential criteria
- GPhC registered/GPhC provisional registration
- Master Degree in Pharmacy (4yrs) or equivalent
- Quality of supporting informaion

- MRPharmS
Experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
