An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly skilled and motivated Pathology Quality Team at Harrogate District Hospital.

The post will be based within the Quality Team in Pathology. The Pathology team at Harrogate are highly regarded having an excellent reputation with service users. The focus of the department is on delivery of a high quality service with patients at the centre of everything we do. Our vision is to achieve excellence every time.

The team at Harrogate is small and friendly requiring a high degree of team work and co-operation from its members so candidates should be prepared to be part of the close knit environment fostered in the department.

The post would suit anyone who is confident using Microsoft Excel / Word and working with information being provided across applications.

Main duties of the job

To provide support to the Quality Manager and Deputy Quality Manager and play a key role in supporting the maintenance of the quality management system (QMS) across all disciplines and in the software version upgrade.

Key elements of the role :-

  • Assist in the maintenance of the Pathology Quality Management System
  • Assist in the implementation of QPulse software upgrade.
  • Day to day monitoring and compliance of quality activities, providing support to attain targets, across all disciplines.
  • Supports the quality team in maintaining the requirements of accreditation by UKAS. 

The post is fixed for 18 months. The successful candidate will be required to work up to 37 hours per week.

The department hold full UKAS accreditation and utilises the QPULSE quality management system

Essential

Essential criteria
  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or • Key skills at level 2 in numeracy and literacy (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of windows based computer systems and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications with excellent keyboard skills
  • Experience of clerical work involving computerised systems
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in a healthcare environment
  • Use of QPulse
  • Experience of quality management systems
