Sister/Charge Nurse - Wensleydale

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

To be a leader on Wensleydale Ward is about being part of something special, which is why we need amazing people who stand out from the crowd. Real professionals who are adaptable to new roles, responsive to change and always looking to improve and develop innovative practice.

We can offer training, flexibility, friendliness and a caring environment in which to work and provide a large number of staff benefits, which you will find listed in the additional information link attached to the vacancy.

Main duties of the job

We know that to be the best, we need to recruit, develop and support the best nurses to continue to provide an outstanding service. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse who is passionate about patient safety and the delivery of exceptional quality care. Ideally the right person will have an experience in cardiology and acute respiratory care and a willingness to develop the skills required to become a champion in this field, share their knowledge and skills with the nursing team and lead the Team in providing excellent care.

Working for our organisation

We are not just any acute medical team, and we are not just looking for anyone to join us. Wensleydale Ward is a fast paced 28 bedded medical ward, including a 4 bed Coronary Care Unit and 4 bedded Medical Enhanced Care Unit .  We care for Cardiac and Respiratory patients, some requiring highly specialist care, but with a predicted length of stay of less than 72 hours. Due to an increased  workforce plan for Band 6, we now have the opportunity to add an extra band 6 Sister or Charge Nurse to our Ward Leadership Team.
