Job overview

We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity to join the talented  IT Team  at Harrogate District Foundation Trust.

Reporting to the IT Integration Manager, the post holder will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and supporting a suite of patient data interfaces (mostly HL7) between the many hospital systems inside and outside the Trust.

We are looking for someone with excellent technical skills, an analytical, problem solving approach and a willingness to learn, reflect and adapt. Someone with direct experience and knowledge of patient based systems and data in NHS would be necessary.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication, interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and supporting a suite of patient data interfaces (mostly HL7) between the many hospital systems inside and outside the Trust.

Take the lead and ensure the day-to-day running and the correct operation of the interfaces contained in the Trust Integration Engine (Mirth Connect). Take the lead on Integration elements of Digital projects, working directly with the project managers as part of the project team to deliver the Interfacing activities successfully.

Work closely with the relevant technical and non-technical staff to ensure integration related requirements are clarified, discussed, understood and documented and then delivered to specification. They will report on progress and the status of any work being carried out and overall system performance.

Analyse, investigate and diagnose complex issues in a timely manner as part of the 3rd line support service, following the Service Desk processes and collaborating with other IT Teams as required.

Provide day-to-day guidance and assistance on the Trusts integration landscape to IT and non-IT colleagues. Be proactive in understanding the longer-term integration roadmaps, industry best practises and strategies.
