Are you keen to work in a supportive acute ward dietetic team and build your experience in the dietetic management of patients on our stroke unit?
Due to developments within the Nutrition & Dietetic service we have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Dietitian to join our team. The successful candidate will also cover respiratory, cardiology and general medicine.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the acute team lead to deliver and develop the dietetic service to all in-patients wards at Harrogate District Hospital. This post is primarily in-patient based with some outpatient clinic work. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in intensive care and parenteral nutrition to help with the gastro/surgical dietitian as cover for annual leave.
This post is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge base in enteral feeding, and the dietetic management of stroke patients. The post holder will also work on other speciality wards and contribute to other departmental projects, audits and supervision.
The wider dietetic department offers excellent support for professional development and participates in the training of student dietitians on A, B and C placements.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- HCPC registration and qualified as a registered dietitian
- Member of the BDA
Experience
Essential criteria
- 1 year post HCPC registration experience to be considered for Band 6 or at least 6 months post HCPC registration experience to be for band 5-6 progression post
- Experience in supervising other i.e. dietetic assistants, nutrition assistants
- Training and presentation skills using a variety of teaching methods for both individuals and groups
- Able to demonstrate the management of a complex caseload
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Involved with practice placement training of students
- Evidence of introducing service development and innovation
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Post graduate experience in supporting patients following a stroke
- Post graduate experience in supporting patients requiring enteral feeding

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
