The post holder will be required to work as part of the Adult Eating Disorders Team within the Suffolk Care Group. This is a clinically focussed post with emphasis on ensuring high quality clinical care provision and outcomes.

The post holder is responsible for the oversight of the care provided by the Adult Eating Disorders Team.

The post holder will demonstrate excellent clinical skills and will be expected to have experience and advanced/ specialist knowledge in Eating Disorders. They will be expected to act as a source of advice on their area of specialism across the Care Group and may be required to support developments in their given area of specialism across the Care Group and the integrated system as part of the overall development of the service.

You will provide specialist advice and knowledge to staff and be able to support practitioners with clinical matters and decision making.

You will be actively involved in facilitating and resolution of complex or challenging clinical situations and it is expected that the postholder will co-work on a limited basis with care coordinators where role modelling/ peer intervention may be of benefit to clinical outcomes in complex cases

The successful applicant will be expected to:

Provide clinical leadership within the Adult Eating Disorders Team teams, maintaining the integrity of these teams in line with the Trust’s organisational structure.

Work in partnership with clinicians, People Participation Leads and other stakeholders to support clinical engagement and leadership of quality, safety, performance and service development.

Lead and present complex, sensitive and challenging clinical and professional communication processes that may impact on service users, carers, staff, the team, the organisation, partner agencies and members of the public, where there are barriers to understanding.

Professional networking locally and nationally and disseminate/share information with other colleagues.

Chair / facilitate complex case reviews/ meetings which may involve other agencies.

Take the management/clinical lead role in partnership with the clinical/ multi-disciplinary team in managing complex cases.

Maintain advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of interventions, procedures and practices relevant to the clinical/practice area.

Contribute to identifying/reviewing/re-designing services in response to user need, ensuring a safe, high-quality level of service is maintained

As an individual you should be clinically credible with good evidence of leadership and possession of these qualities. You will need the ability to represent your profession, care group and specific service provision at various forums, meetings and committees.

You will be subject to timescales and deadlines so will need to work efficiently and under pressure with the self-awareness, autonomy and skill to delegate as and when necessary. You will need to have the confidence to hold others to account and the professionalism to be held to account.

To develop and maintain evidence based, strategic plans for Adult Eating Disorders services according to NICE guidelines, to deliver the vision and strategy in alignment with the Trust’s business plan, local commissioning intentions, local healthcare alliances and national policy drivers.

To develop annual objectives for Adult Eating Disorders services, with a clear action plan, milestones and monitoring process; and aligned to the Trust’s annual objectives; CQC standards and QED accreditation.

To use investment monies, in line with Trust processes, to progress the strategic plans for services.

To develop services and lead change within Adult Eating Disorders services, implementing and evaluating the agreed strategic plans.
