Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Main duties of the job

  • Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is working with its partners,  service users, families, carers and staff to further improve and enhance mental health services for the communities in Norfolk and Suffolk.
    • To achieve our ambitious plans, the Communications and Engagement function at 
    NSFT is transforming and growing to maximise communication and engagement 
    opportunities and is on a continuous journey of improvement and diversification to 
    ensure our communication and engagement work meets the needs of our staff, 
    partner organisations, people and communities.
    • The Senior Multimedia Officer will be the lead officer within the team for the 
    development and implementation of the NSFT multimedia communication and 
    engagement strategy through the delivery of high-quality digital communications and 
    engagement activities
    • The post holder will oversee effective day-to-day and strategic development of the 
    NSFT digital and social media channels, including its website. This will include 
    providing advice and support to clinical and corporate teams across the organisation
    in the management and development of team channels.
    • The post holder will work with the wider communications and engagement team to 
    plan digital communications and engagement activities and use the latest, most up to 
    date tools and platforms to communicate and engage with partners, stakeholders, 
    patients and members of the public across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Ensure the development and delivery of an effective digital communications and 
    engagement strategy for NSFT, working with partner organisations to ensure 
    channels and information are more streamlined.
    • Provide solutions to highly complex digital communication problems to a range of 
    audiences, using persuasive and negotiating skills.

Deliver messages through professional communications using a variety of means, 
including, but not limited to, websites, social media graphics, videos.
• Liaising with communication and engagement officers across the wider ICS’s to 
ensure a coordinated approach to digital communications and engagement.
• Introduce digital and targeted communication and engagement channels which are 
used by wider audiences, such as Tik Tok, Instagram and Snapchat.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in digital communications or other relevant field or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of working in a digital communications, engagement, or related role.
Desirable criteria
  • Managing bilingual digital platforms.
  • Project management experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Well-developed IT skills with the ability to utilise a range of electronic reporting programmes
  • Able to produce data and reports to tight time scales

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Proven knowledge of digital communications web accessibility requirement for public sector bodies
  • Proven advanced written and verbal communication skills required, which are adaptable to different audiences and purposes.
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of paid social media and marketing campaigns
  • Understanding of the NHS and of health issues
