Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice to join our friendly Workforce Deployment Team, at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. This role is predominately home-based role but we can offer two bases to work from at either County Hall in Norwich or Endeavour House in Ipswich.

This post will require the successful candidate to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration which is supported by Poultec Training Specialists.  The diploma is made up of 8 units and you will be able to gain experience in our workplace to support the units under the apprenticeship programme. This is an ideal opportunity for a school/college leaver or someone looking to start their administrative career within the NHS, whilst gaining a recognised qualification.

The Workforce Deployment Team is responsible for the provision of all aspects of e-rostering and temporary staffing support to our colleagues,  external stakeholders and across all elements of our service.  The role will include working closely with the team to gain experience, skills and knowledge of everything health roster and temporary staffing related.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will gain and develop key skills and experience, offering a rare and varied insight into many different elements of administrative work within our busy workforce team.  Skills, knowledge and experience gained will support the post holder in their application for obtaining a substantive administrative role within our Trust or which are equally transferrable to external companies or organisations.  

The post is an 18-month placement working across a 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday which includes 1 day per week for attendance at virtual workshops/study time.

(Duties will include, but are not limited to):

  • Support senior staff with answering queries in both the e-rostering and temporary staffing inboxes.
  • Filing information on electronic files
  • Running regular reports for senior managers

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a busy service we have a responsibility to not only our clinical colleagues but also the patients that are accessing our service.  We therefore work positively to make sure we provide a high level of customer service.  This role will include interaction and communication with a wide scope of people including colleagues, agency /bank staff ,medical and Senior health care professionals.  We are the first point of contact with the Trust, so we are looking for someone who can demonstrate they understand how good communication and customer service is essential.

You will work as part of a busy team and working together is an essential part of the ethos that drives us. This is a busy role with varying demands, so building an effective rapport with colleagues and being ready to take their guidance and offer your support will be really important.
