Job overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Receptionist within our 'Reception Hub' based in Justin Gardner House at Hellesdon Hospital.
The Unit comprises of a PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) 10 bedded ward and a Blended MSU/LSU Secure Service, which is 16 beds. Both wards support woman with various mental health and personality disturbances.

This is a substantive, 37.5 hours per week, in the reception area of the Unit, with working hours between 06:30- 21:30 7 days a week.

Shifts are split into Early shifts, Late shifts and Long days.

We are looking for a positive and welcoming individual, who will make the initial contact with the unit a memorable one. You will be the first and last contact with any visitors, carers and professionals.

Main duties of the job

You will be the first experience within the Unit and will be expected to demonstrate effective teamwork skills. The role will include call handling, greeting visitors, scanning documents and other administrative office duties including reception work. 


The demand required may vary and there will be periods of a slower pace compared to some periods of high acuity. Depending on the time, day and the current admissions that are being supported.


You are also required to complete day to day operational tasks such as alarm testing, issuing badges, logging maintenance work and basic admin skills.


You will be required to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook will be desirable. Knowledge of the Trust system Lorenzo would be an advantage not mandatory.
