NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs. We are enhancing our urgent and emergency care specialist services for patients with significant injuries as a result of trauma and have an ambition to become a Major Trauma Centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Recruitment Officer to join our Central Recruitment Team. We are the largest Trust in Norfolk and recruit over 2,000 people a year.

This role requires you to work with accuracy and pace, re-assessing priorities and conflicting demands on a daily basis as we continue our journey to improve every aspect of the recruitment experience for candidates joining or moving within our busy acute hospital.

Recruitment Officers are responsible for the coordination of recruitment activities on a day-to-day basis to provide an effective, efficient and people focused service which meets the changing needs of hiring managers, new and existing colleagues, and prospective applicants.

You will be responsible for specific areas within the hospital, overseeing recruitment episodes from placing of adverts through to issuing contracts to new starters; ensuring a smooth and streamlined process throughout.

We are looking for someone who shares our PRIDE Values and is a great team colleague with flexibility to get stuck in during busy times. Someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude to help our recruiting managers and the wider Trust to ensure we recruit in a timely, safe way.

You will also support the Recruitment Administrators and help with their development and training, providing them with up-to-date guidance, instruction and clarity in relation to all pre-employment checks ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and NHS standards.

We are a large team who provide recruitment expertise to hiring managers across the Trust. In this role, you will support with recruitment initiatives and liaise with appropriate external organisations such as NHS Jobs, and other job advertising organisations, UK Visas and Immigration Authority, the DBS and internal stakeholders including hiring managers, finance colleagues and HR operational and Business Partner teams.

Working directly with recruiting managers, you will review recruitment literature pre-advertising; ensuring correct templates are used, recommending and influencing changes as appropriate.

You will also be contributing to team standard operating procedures and other forms of guidance relating to resourcing activity. This includes communicating and agreeing them with the team and keeping them under regular review for compliance, consistency and best practice purposes.

1. Assist the Recruitment Manager including supervision of staff dealing with the recruitment processes on behalf of the Divisions / Departments

2. Compile standard reports / up to date analysis of recruitment as required

3. Provide advice to managers concerning employment of migrant workers and applying for Certificates of Sponsorship (work permits) 

4. Monitor and ensure the full and effective use of the ESR and E-Rec systems to process applications and provide management information

5. Ensure that all recruitment processes comply with the Trust’s Recruitment Guidelines and NHS Standards issued by the Department of Health

6.  Attend and participate in divisional / directorate / departmental meetings where appropriate

7.  Assist in setting up Service Level agreements with divisions / departments and ensuring agreed timetables are adhered to
