NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs. We are enhancing our urgent and emergency care specialist services for patients with significant injuries as a result of trauma and have an ambition to become a Major Trauma Centre.

Senior Clinical Fellows - Medicine Division
These Clinical Fellow (IMT3 equivalent) posts are to cover rotation vacancies in various medical departments
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to experience working in a busy teaching hospital.

Main duties of the job
Senior Clinical Fellow
These are full time Senior Clinical Fellow Posts in response to Service need based in the medical division. This post is a full shift rolling rota with nights and weekends included. These posts are available from August 2024 until August 2025
Successful candidates will be allocated to any one of the medical specialties with in the medical division.
The primary role of the Clinical Fellow is to work alongside nursing and medical colleagues to clerk and manage the acute unselected admissions as part of a Same Day Emergency Care framework (formally known as Ambulatory Emergency Care) and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU). This position is open to all those with experience equivalent to completion of Foundation Competencies (including international applicants)
There is 24/7 ST3+ cover and consultant cover for a minimum of 12 hours (resident) 7 days a week, with an extra consultant covering the AEC Monday to Friday 0800 to 2000 and 0800 to 1700 Saturday/Sunday.

The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) is one of the busiest teaching trusts in England. We serve over 900,000 people across Norfolk, North Suffolk and surrounding areas for specialist services. In 2016/17 our 7,500 members of staff delivered 816,000 outpatient appointments, 90,000 day cases and 90,000 inpatient admissions from our two hospitals.
- The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is located on the Norwich Research Park and serves the population of Norfolk and Norfolk Suffolk and further afield for specialist services. It opened in 2001 and is a 1,200 bed teaching hospital with state-of-the-art facilities. We provide a wide range of secondary and tertiary services, including Accident and Emergency. The trust will be commemorating 250 years of a hospital in Norwich in 2021.
- Cromer and District Hospital is located in Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and serves the North Norfolk population. It was redeveloped in 2012 to replace the 1930s-founded hospital. We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust is commemorated 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
