The Radiology Department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust are looking for enthusiastic, well organised individual, to join our administration team.
As the successful post holder, you will play an integral role in helping the department to provide a responsive imaging service to the hospital and wider healthcare community.

Main duties of the job
- You will be expected to rotate around the various administrative work areas within the department and will be part of the team that provides administrative support to the Consultants, Service Manager and other departmental Team Leads as required.
- You must have an understanding of a range of work based computer procedures, the Radiology Information system (RIS) utilises software that is very specific to Radiology.
- Schedule appointments on the RIS, communicating examination specific instructions to ward staff, patients and other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
- Participate on a weekend rota where the role is unsupervised and will involve an element of chaperoning patients and assisting Radiologists in addition to the normal administrative duties.
- Must have a working knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology, to enable appropriate scheduling of specialist imaging examinations.

Qualifications/training and professional development
Desirable criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English and ICT
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience with dealing with members of the public or voluntary group activities
Desirable criteria
- NVQ in Customer Service
- Previous experience in the healthcare setting, use of Patient Centre
- A general knowledge of the NHS
- The postholder must develop a broad understanding of the radiology department and procedures undertaken.
Skills, abilities, and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the role of the professions in the healthcare setting
- Ability to engage effectively in dialogue with individuals at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service including weekends and bank holidays

- Good housekeeping skills and effective time management

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
