Job overview
Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery Inpatient unit are looking for a Band 6 Senior Charge Nurse to work as part of our passionate, Recovery service provision focused team.
Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery Service (SRRS) is a Community Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit, supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental illness . We are currently the only mental health rehabilitation setting within Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust.
The SRRS team are committed to empowering individuals on the recovery pathway . We are service user lead, and put person centred care at the forefront of what we do.
At SRRS we have a 10 bedded unit offering 24-hour support. Our support includes assessment of individuals capabilities, with regards to planned daily living activities and assessments based on the recovery model which endeavours to assist a move on to independent, or further supported accommodation.
Within our multi disciplinary team patients have access to psychology, art therapy, occupational therapy and other activities available on the ward. Our nursing team consists of experienced nurses and clinical support workers who are dedicated to their patients, to ensure they receive good and consistent care during their admission. Following on from discharge, patients will have access to community teams and activities within the community to continue their recovery.
Main duties of the job
You will work supportively and collaboratively with the Clinical Team Leader ensuring the effective management of the ward in all respects, environmental, financial and clinical in so far as this relates to nursing practice.
Your duties will also include the planning and delivery of direct patient care with appropriate supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
As part of collaborative working amongst Senior Nurses you will be expected to provide a clinical lead to staff in various areas of practice, adhering to the philosophy and clinical skills base of the unit.
You will monitor nursing practice on a day to day basis and ensure that nursing compliments the practice of other professionals.
You will work towards implementing reviews and changes in practice at the discretion of the Clinical Team Leader.
