Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

At any one time, around 23,000 people in Norfolk and Suffolk are receiving care and attention from the Trust. Nearly 3,800 full and part-time practitioners care for our service users in hospitals, in the community and in their own homes, whilst an additional 1,400+ staff provide non-clinical support, including cleaning, catering, delivering supplies, ward administration, information technology, human resources and financial services.

Staff Nurse: Willows  ward,  Older Persons' Inpatient  

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to join our team. Willows ward is a specialist mixed sex admission ward for the assessment and treatment of functional and organic mental health, with 19 beds.   

We work hard to make sure we provide quality, evidence-based and collaborative care in all of the areas we cover.  This role will include interaction and communication with a wide scope of people including service users, health and social care staff, medical and carers.

So, are you someone who is passionate about delivering compassionate and individualised care, driving quality improvement and able to provide clinical leadership within an inpatient mental health setting?  If you have the qualities described above then we want you to think about coming to be a part of our team.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that nursing practice is person centred and, as far as possible, promoting the direct involvement of patients and carers in the development of the plan of care from admission to discharge.
Identify personal learning and training needs through appraisal and personal development plans linked to service needs.
Use available resources effectively.
Participate in recruitment, selection and induction of junior staff.
Report and record incidents, complaints and accidents involving patients, staff or visitors in accordance with Trust and Service Standards.
