Great Yarmouth Acute Services  - Band 4 Senior Clinical Support Workers

Are you ready for your next career step, why not apply to join the team on Great Yarmouth Acute Services, a 18 bedded, mixed gender Ward caring for patients with Acute Mental Health  within the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Care Group.  We have an exciting opportunity for five Assistant Practitioners to join the team. 

If you are passionate about patient care and involvement, working within a strong, supportive and established team, then this role is for you!   You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure clinical excellence and outstanding care are delivery at all times.

You will have the opportunity to engage in Quality Improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our service.

Main duties of the job

As part of our ongoing strive for excellence we are developing a 'care team' approach around patient centred care.  The Assistant Practitioner will take part in ongoing assessments, they will plan, deliver and evaluate the needs of our service users, in accordance with their Care Plans.  

Take part in ongoing risk assessments, recognising and responding to any changes, ensuring that the care and safety of the service user remains the priority. 

The role also provides the opportunity to provide therapeutic interventions, both 1:1 and within a group setting, to further enhance the care and support offered to our service users.

Requirement to work shifts in the numbers alongside our Clinical Support Workers and Registered Nurses. You will work a combination of days and night shifts including unsociable hours i.e. some weekends and bank holidays.

Additional responsibilities for this role are: 

  • Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment within the 136 Suite
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness for the 136 Suite, adjoining office and foyer
  • Clear communication with other teams, the Police, GP, carers and Service User's families.
  • Provision of Line Management Supervision for junior staff
  • To maintain your knowledge and understanding of 136 Trust Policy, Lorenzo data input of clinical information and the Standard Operating Procedure
  • Ensure that all relevant information is provided to Service Users, Police, Approved Mental Health Practitioners, Nursing Staff and Clinical Staff.

  • Foundation Degree
  • Formal Technical Qualification - (NVQ / Diploma / VRQ Level 3 in Mental Health)

Experience
