Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Medical Typist/Administrator to join the Paediatric Secretarial Team in the Division of Surgery. 

Main duties of the job

This role will consist of transcribing digital dictation in relation to outpatient clinic letters and other documentation as required for the patient pathway. Administrative duties will also be required to provide support to the medical secretaries and clinical teams as required. 
 
All applicants should possess good levels of communication skills, have excellent touch typing/word processing skills with attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team. Good basic IT skills and experience working within an admin role are also essential. Knowledge of medical terminology would also be an advantage.

The post holder will work 37.5 hours per week.

  • OCR/RSA II (or equivalent) Typing/Word processing qualification or equivalent measurable level of keyboard skills
  • English GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent
