Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist with a wide range of clinical skills to join Caerphilly Community Resource Team on a permanent basis.  The Team is an integrated one, made up of Therapists, Social Workers, Support staff, Nursing staff and Dom Care staff.  It is a well-established, friendly, innovative team providing community based services across Caerphilly Borough County.

This is a chance to utilise and develop clinical skills in managing a wide and varied caseload of community patients, including Reablement and Falls work.  The CRT provides a hospital to home service and the Physiotherapy role is a vital one in working with individuals to ensure a seamless service in their journey.  The successful post holder will be supported by the other Band 6 and Band 7 Physiotherapists within the team.

Main duties of the job

Providing Physio support to individuals in their own home.  Applicants need to have experience of supporting individuals to achieve their goals, and experience of working in the community would be an advantage.  The applicant would may also be expected to assist with the falls clinic and provide support in the 12 bedded unit in the Rhymney Integrated Resource Centre.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • State Registered Physiotherapist (HPC)
  • Appropriate range of postgraduate clinical education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad range of post graduate clinical experience including comprehensive rotational experience
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of undertaking falls assessments
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of having worked unsupervised
  • Evidence of having working in the UK as a HPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • Evidence of facilitating learning with undergraduate students

Skills and Knowledge

  • The ability to discuss the clinical reasoning process in the management of complex cases
  • The ability to identify and act upon adverse clinical signs
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
