Job overview
ABUHB is looking for the best and the brightest pharmacists to join our secondary care team in a suite of new and exciting roles within E&T across the HB. As part of the ABUHB Pharmacy Vision, we are focused on continuous investment in our workforce and are committed to delivering the highest standards for Pharmacy E&T training for all.
We want enthusiastic individuals with a strong passion for training delivery and strategy, as well as a proven track record of clinical expertise. The roles will allow successful candidates to maintain and develop their clinical skills and knowledge. Postholders will be key facilitators for the high quality and delivery of training programmes including the Funded Pharmacy Undergraduate Placement Programme (FPUPP) and Multi-Sector Trainee Pharmacist Programme.
We are looking for applicants with a proven history of delivering support and mentorship to trainees, ideally with a minimum of 3yrs’ experience post registration.
We support flexible working and welcome applicants looking at full-time and part-time contracts for these roles. There are roles based in each of our fantastic teams at the Grange, Royal Gwent, Nevill Hall and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (WTE as per below). Please express your site preference(s) on your application.

Main duties of the job
o To support the ABUHB Education and Training (E&T) strategy by working with Departmental Leads to organise and deliver training programmes within the Pharmacy Department
· To lead and support implementation and delivery of the HEIW Funded Pharmacy Undergraduate Placement Programme (FPUPP) within relevant Pharmacy site.
· To be responsible for the delivery of a specialist clinical Pharmacy service to patients, medical and nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in accordance with legal and professional requirements and standards,
· To provide a ward-based medicines management service to specialist clinical area.
· To act as a role model in the field of clinical Pharmacy practice and provide a consistently high standard of clinical service in line with the ABUHB Pharmacy vision.
· To act as a non-medical prescriber when required, undertaking agreed sessions within sphere of competence, initiating/modifying medication, monitoring therapy and adjusting treatment options.
· To deputise and support the Lead Pharmacists within the relevant Pharmacy Department when required.
