Job overview
We are looking for a friendly and experienced person to join our children's physiotherapy team at Nevill Hall Children's Centre.
The Senior Physiotherapy Technician is a highly specialised role which involves independently managing a delegated outpatient caseload. The post holder will support patients attending sessions within the outpatient department, hydrotherapy pool, schools and patient's homes where appropriate.
This is an exciting hands-on role which offers the opportunity to build on existing experience within the speciality of children's physiotherapy. Patient treatments may be delivered as one to one or group treatments .
Main duties of the job
The post is predominantly clinical with a small element of non-clinical duties which will include supporting clinicians with admin duties, housekeeping and monitoring and ordering of equipment and supplies.
Good time management and prioritisation skills are crucial for this role, as is the ability to work calmly and thoroughly under pressure.
You will need to display excellent communication skills, as the post involves direct patient contact, communication with referrers, as well as the wider Physiotherapy and Administration teams.
Documentation of patient notes to an appropriate standard, and the ability to adapt programs independently is vital to this post.
The post holder will be expected to work towards completion of the Agored Level 3 Diploma in Physiotherapy Support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Quals & Education
Essential criteria
- Good command of English language and basic Maths
- NVQ 3 or other equivalent
- Completion of relevant advanced levels of Agored
Desirable criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- First Aid Certificate
- Appropriate courses
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in a health and/or social care environment or hold an appropriate qualification
- Specific experience as a physiotherapy technician or other relevant support worker role
- Experience of reflective practice in patient care
- Experience of audit
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with groups of patients
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good communication skills both verbal and written when interacting with members of the team, other professionals, clients and their families
- Working knowledge of specialised equipment appropriate to working area
- Good organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Evidence of initiative and good time management
- The ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate independant case management and treatment progression, for a delegated workload
