Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 5 Dietitians to join our forward thinking, supportive and motivated community team of dietitians. The posts are based at Glanrhyd Hospital or Pontypridd Cottage Hospital and provide support across Cwm Taf Morgannwg Community sites. They are full time and permanent positions.
The successful candidates will provide dietetic intervention to patients across community sites including wards, care homes and patients own homes as well as regular outpatient clinics and education sessions. The candidate will have a key role in student training and will also work closely with Dietetic Support Workers.

The successful candidate will share our values and vision of an integrated community dietetic team. You will be joining a forward thinking group of dietitians who are part of a dynamic Dietetic Department of over 90 dietitians and support staff.
The department enjoys a high profile both within the wider Therapies team and across the Health Board. The department fully supports continuing professional development. With protected sessions in job plans we actively support staff to participate and share learning opportunities and experiences.

Main duties of the job
To support the provision of health care, to the people of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board catchment area. To have clinical responsibility for a varied caseload made up of adult community patients receiving nutritional support orally or enterally. Also outpatient work including general adult dietetic clinics or group education sessions.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team which will include medical, nursing, therapy and catering staff and other colleagues and agencies both within the community and hospital settings.
To work autonomously and work within professional policies, standards and conduct as laid down by the British Dietetic Association, the Health Care Professions Council and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Dietetic Department.

Qualifications/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- BSc. Nutrition & Dietetics or Equivalent Dietetic qualification with state registration. Registered with Health Care Professions Council.
- Postgraduate CPD where applicable. Aware of current developments in Dietetic practice.
- Knowledge of current reports and publications relevant to the post.
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Supervisory Skills Training.
- Appreciation of factors influencing the health of the local population.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing mixed clinical caseload.
- Outpatient experience.
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good motivational skills. Good analytical skills.
- Computer literate with keyboard skills. Logical approach to problem solving.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh
- Presentation skills
Other
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel throughout community and UHB sites in a timely manner.
- Physically able to undertake anthropometrical measurement of patients (weighing /measuring)
