We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team here at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
We are always looking to be more innovative, resourceful and to explore different ways for the Medicines Management team to provide an efficient and effective Pharmacy service.
In this stimulating role you will build on your previous experience, developing greater autonomy and responsibility. Our team based working model will allow you to work in collaboration with more senior and junior colleagues. This post will also provide you with the opportunity to both deputise and also lead a ward based Pharmacy team.
There is an exciting Health Board wide re-design of services underway. Plans include the addition of a new diagnostic and elective surgical hub next to the Royal Glamorgan hospital site and the forthcoming implementation of a Health Board wide Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with our teams of highly experienced Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians you will participate in the clinical ward and dispensary service, building on your clinical experience, developing greater autonomy and responsibility whilst providing a core clinical pharmacy service. You will work within the speciality of medicine and paediatrics, but there will also be potential opportunity to rotate through other clinical areas as we look to develop our Pharmacy services in line with the new clinical service model across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
You will also have the opportunity to undertake a supportive role in the provision of education and training within the department.
You will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for improvement and patient focused care, and be able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- Registered member of the general pharmaceutical council (GPhC)
- Good knowledge of Medicines Management
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Hospital Pharmacy, or equivalent clinical experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
Desirable criteria
- MSc clinical Pharmacy
- Other qualification (certificate/diploma)
- Evidence of RPS portfolio
- Independent Prescriber
