Job overview

To support the provision of healthcare to the population of the University Health Board by participating in the achievement of the UHB’s mission and objectives.

 

To support the Clinical Coding Assistant Manager/Manager in order to assist in the support of the provision of the highest level of healthcare.

 

The post holder will undertake day to day collation and dissemination of case notes in support of the coding department, adhering to timescales and deadlines.

 

To track and return the case notes to the appropriate departments.

Main duties of the job

·        Be responsible to provide an effective administrative support service to the Clinical Coding Department to assist them in achieving the timely provision of coded data to meet the national deadlines as set out by Welsh Assembly Government.

·        To identify and retrieve all case notes required by the coding department to carry out the clinical coding process.

·        Being responsible for the availability and release of case notes and other related health care documentation to the clinical coding team.

·        Be responsible for the identification; transportation and tracking of case notes into the Clinical Coding department form all Wards and Departments across Cwm Taf Health Board.

·        Respond to queries from staff regarding the location and coding status of case notes within the coding department.

The permanent base is Royal Glamorgan Hospital, however the post holder with be expected to when required to deal with case notes located on all CTUHB sites.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • GCSE qualifications to include English and Maths, or equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience

Experience

  • Good working knowledge in computer operating and keyboard skills

  • Knowledge of Patient Administration System
