Job overview

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our expanding Public Health Dietetic service in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, working with Specialist and Highly Specialist Public Health Dietitians and a range of support staff.

This post holder will support the provision of health care and prevention of ill health to the people of the Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taf Ely and Bridgend. 

They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team which will include public health staff, dietetic colleagues, nurses, doctors and other colleagues and agencies within the community.

Post holders will also deliver a range of community based initiatives; utilising a range of agreed approaches to support positive changes to food, nutrition, and physical activity behaviours. They will support the local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.

The successful candidates will receive a range of training opportunities as well as excellent administrative and supervisory support. They will receive weekly supervision sessions with a registered dietitian and will work closely with a range of partner agencies to promote positive healthy lifestyle behaviours.

Main duties of the job

This post holder will work as an integral part of the national network of Public Health Dietitians in Wales and will implement the delivery and evaluation of award winning Nutrition Skills for LifeTM programmes.

This post will involve working with a range of partners and juggling a number of competing priorities. Time management and prioritisation skills will therefore be key.

We will consider full time, part-time and flexible working arrangements.

This post will work to ensure the cascade of consistent, evidence based food and nutrition information to inform practical and sustainable changes. It heavily involves supporting and developing others to provide the best services possible within their local communities and enhancing the assets they currently possess.

The post is based in the uniquely built Keir Hardie University Health Park
