Job overview
An exciting opportunity for a new band 6 Clinical nurse to join our team of nurses within Specialist Palliative care within Y Bwthyn Newydd , Bridgend and at Y Bwthyn Royal Glamorgan Hospital . A robust induction , education and nurturing awaits the successful candidate with a keen interest in palliative care and wishing to extend their career further. You will need to be a car driver and access to a vehicle is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an individual who had good organisational skills and someone who works well within a team and also independently to care for patients and families with specialist palliative care needs.
Working as a member of a MDT it is essential to support patients and signpost to other services as required. Ensuring gold standards of care are delivered - the post holder will be delegated duties from the Band 7/ Senior Nurse for the service.
If you have the skills and interest to expand your specialist palliative care skills and knowledge further then this is the post for you. Succession planning will be part of your yearly PADR.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Under direction from the band 7 CNS/ Senior Nurse assess and support patients and families with their specialist palliative care needs either in the hospital setting or in the patients home in the community.
Attend regular MDT meetings
Deliver training to other services as required.
Work closely with the Senior Nurse to ensure standards of care are met.
Act as an advocate for patients and families.
Represent the Health board as delegated for Health Board meetings.
