Clinical Quality Groups (CQG) Admin Assistant

Job overview

The CQG Admin Assistant will provide support and co-ordination to a number of Clinical Quality Groups (CQGs),  which impact Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) programmes and projects, to enable system wide change to facilitate delivery of Cancer Alliance objectives and priorities identified within NHS England‘s Long Term Plan and the local cancer delivery plan.

The role will require excellent organisation and communication skills and close working with stakeholders including providers, commissioners, patients and carers to deliver objectives in accordance with the aims and ambitions of the CQG and Cancer Alliance.

 

Main duties of the job

 CQGs provide clinical leadership, direction and strategy and are a source of expert clinical and professional opinion from which to lead, inform, support, and advise on a wide range of cancer programmes, projects and services across Cheshire and Merseyside.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and delivery of key CQG workplans, formal meetings and education events, by providing administration and a support function to the CMCA team. 

The post holder will attend CQG meetings and events in Cheshire and Merseyside. They will work alongside colleagues at all levels including senior clinicians, executives, project managers and teams across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification relevant to post or equivalent experience
  • ECDL or equivalent experience
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Project Management qualification

Knowledge & Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Broad range of IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and local information systems, including project specific software packages
  • Experience in providing administrative and project support functions, in a Programme or Project environment
  • Experience of administering and co-ordinating a wide range of activities including project planning, tracking and reporting
  • Experience of planning and organising meetings, including strong and effective minute taking skills
  • Knowledge of NHS Information Governance and confidentiality processes
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the national cancer agenda

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of managing project documentation including Gantt charts, issue logs and action plans
  • Experience of meeting coordination and event planning
