We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our multidisciplinary Team within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Why?

We have recently completed a service redesign/re-structure to enable our focus to shift towards health promotion/wellbeing and the prevention of ill-health.  This has seen significant investment by the Trust to support new ways of working and as such we are in the process of creating several new opportunities and roles.

This is an exciting opportunity to join and support us through this transition period and beyond allowing us to put staff health and wellbeing exactly where it belongs, at the heart of everything we do.

We have secured a new operational service based at Winwick, Warrington with satellite units in Sefton / Knowsley and Liverpool areas to support delivery of the service across the Trust footprint. We will also consider opportunities for remote working in line with operational demands.

Main duties of the job

Who do we want?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced PWP to join our team.  The postholder will be responsible for providing a range of high volume, low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based interventions, to those experiencing mild to severe anxiety and depression.

The step 2 workforce is integral to the successful running of the OHWB Psychological Therapies service, helping to ensure the key performance indicators are being met. The post-holder will therefore work alongside the OHWB & Psychological Therapies team and will have managerial support from the OHWB Psychological Therapies Lead, as well as the wider management team.

KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE:

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in an occupational health setting and how this may differ from primary care.
  • Proven relevant experience of working with people with common mental health problems.
  • Ability to manage own workload and time.
  • Ability to demonstrate high standards in written communication.
  • Able to write clear reports and letters.
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training.
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health.
  • Knowledge of self-help materials for managing common mental health problems.
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems.
  • Proven relevant experience of working in Primary Care Services or other relevant settings.
  • Proven relevant experience of working in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
  • Proven relevant experience of working in the local community or relevant experience in other areas.
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
