Job overview

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an excellent opportunity for two enthusiastic, qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to support the Colorectal Surgical Medical workforce.  As part of the medical workforce the ANP will be working to support our 24/7 multidisciplinary approach to working.  They will also play an important role in triaging and assessing patients referred by primary care through the Suspected Colorectal Cancer pathway.

The ANP must have achieved their MSc in Advanced Practice and be a competent Non-medical Prescriber (NMP) with the knowledge and skills to work at an 8a level. Consideration will be given to candidates who may not have achieved the full job requirements as a training role and banding will be altered accordingly.    We are developing our team of highly skilled autonomous ANPs to promote high quality care, experience, outcomes and safe and effective discharge.  We believe that ANPs significantly contribute to the patient journey, and we would like two qualified ANPs who are flexible and forward thinking to join our pre-existing friendly and supportive team of ANPs.  Successful applicants will be supported in their development as Advanced Practitioners through high quality clinical supervision and access to relevant modules and negotiated study leave to support your development.   Continuing Professional Development is an essential element to the ANP role.

Main duties of the job

Advanced Nurse Practitioners with a dedication to best practice and a passion for improving health outcomes should apply to join our multidisciplinary workforce.  Our ANPs are highly valued and are well supported by the medical and senior nursing team and there will be opportunities for gaining skills and further development within the role.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a fast paced Acute Trust and want new challenges and to become part of an exciting and innovative multidisciplinary workforce.

Applicants will need to be NMC registered and be eligible to use their Independent Non-Medical prescribing qualification in practice in order to meet the criteria for this Qualified Advanced Practitioner post.  Above all, we need Advanced Practitioners who are motivated and enthusiastic with a can doattitude who will deliver quality services with compassion.
