Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria 

Should this vacancy be recruited as an apprenticeship, the following criteria will apply:

UK nationals or other persons with a right of abode have an eligible residency status if they have been ordinarily resident in the UK or the British Overseas Territories, or the Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous 3 years on the first day of the apprenticeship.

We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and motivated team player here at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.  As a registered Pharmacy Technician, you should be enthusiastic, looking to challenge yourself and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  We are a busy department and therefore it is essential that you can work accurately under pressure and are able to organise and prioritise your workload efficiently.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any hospital experience, all training and support will be provided by our friendly team. Following a dispensary restructure last year, there are excellent opportunities for progression both within the dispensary and at ward level.

***Applications will be considered from Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians due to qualify in September 2024.***

Participate in the technician rotation programme which currently includes dispensary, pharmacy satellites and aseptic services.  (see JD for full role)

 Posts are 37:30 hours per week worked between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays 1-2 per year.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • Must be registered with General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
  • Working in a pharmacy
  • Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems

  • Hospital pharmacy experience
  • JAC stock control system
