Job overview
The Facilities Department are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Receptionist to join our team at Arrowe Park Hospital who enjoys working as part of a team and can demonstrate a commitment to delivering an effective, high quality administrative support service.
A key element of this role is to provide an administrative service across all Facilities operational service models to support the smooth running of a large multidisciplinary department.
The candidate will be expected to have excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional and proactive attitude with previous experience of working in a busy, demanding administration environment is essential.
Monday-Friday 37.5 Hours per week.
Main duties of the job
- To respond to telephone enquiries, taking messages and transferring and escalating calls when necessary.
- Filing correspondence and other documentation.
- Maintaining the current and archive filing systems, including paper and electronic systems.
- Photocopying, scanning and collation of documents.
- Use appropriate computer based systems to enter patient or staff information and maintain databases.
- Follow office procedures and practices relating to administrative duties.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of stock and order as and when necessary, highlighting any potential problems in good time.
- Dealing with enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to stakeholders and referring to others as appropriate.
- Promote the image of the department, checking that notices and leaflets are up to date and well presented.
- Word processing documents, letters, e-mails and reports to a high standard.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE’s including maths and English or NVQ Level 2 in administration.
- Previous experience working in an administration role.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in the NHS.
- Previous experience working with information systems/databases

- Good communicator with a customer focused approach
- To possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
