Do you have an interest in clinical education? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Educational Facilitator Team Leader. You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multiprofessional learning environments within the Trust. The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with education providers and organisations to develop new ways of delivering placements

Assessing the quality of a range of practice learning environments, determining interventions to sustain and enhance practice education; ensuring all service areas/ placement providers have an up-to-date audit/action plan in place, informing the annual quality monitoring of Education Contract.

Supporting and facilitating the development of clinical practice mentors/ practice supervisors, providing supervision and support structures in order to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.

Leading on the structuring and coordination of interprofessional learning activity across a service area(s).

Participating and leading the PEF team in single Quality Assurance multiprofessional site visits across organisations.

Developing, co-coordinating, evaluating, and implementing education programmes with Higher Education partners. For example, contributing to curriculum development, validation and review through the Annual Quality Review of the Education Contracts.

Ensure placement capacity is maximised looking at different ways to support the local and national workforce plans.

Lead the Practice Facilitator team ensuring the Trust is delivering quality placements.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

  • 1 st Level Degree
  • Specialist knowledge of education in practice at Masters level equivalent e.g. education module at Maters level.
  • Professional qualification, to a minimum of degree level, with up-to-date professional registration.
  • Broad range of post qualifying clinical experience for a minimum of 3 years
  • Extensive experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students in the practice setting.
  • Experience of having worked across professional and organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of staff management/ leading a team
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of the private, voluntary and independent sector.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to present to large groups of people
  • Ability to teach and facilitate in a variety of settings with different groups of staff
  • Able to plan, implement and evaluate education programmes

  • In depth knowledge of Quality Assurance Principles and framework
  • Working Knowledge of Interprofessional learning theory.
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
