An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed, competent and passionate Clinical Lead to join the Mid Mersey Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. 

 

Responsibilities:

To provide clinical and managerial leadership to a team of CRHT staff within the Liverpool area. To work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure a consistent approach to the care of Service Users.

To build effective relationships with Care Teams and other care providers and ensure that views of Service Users, Carers, relatives and friends are given appropriate recognition.

To influence and shape evidence based clinical practice and to take a lead role in the implementation and support of change.

To operate in a role that is primarily therapeutic in nature developing effective relationships with Service User in a variety of care settings.

Main duties of the job

Clinical supervision skills.

Expertise in clinical assessment and decision making.

The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Complete, review and present RADAR & 72 hour reviews as required.

Complete,  review and share learning of clinical audits both with senior leadership team and CRHT

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide professional leadership to the team (in line with service philosophy), acting as a role model and demonstrating up to date knowledge of mental health issues and awareness of physical health needs, through the development of professional expertise and the maintenance of professional networks.

To promote the mental and physical well-being of Service Users by ensuring health promotion, psychological, rehabilitation and educational needs are addressed

To lead and coordinate the work of Care Teams, ensuring that their activities encompass all facets of Service Users care and are achieved in line with all Trust and local policies and
procedures.

To actively seek the view of Service Users and Carers in the development and monitoring of services, ensuring high standards of care delivery.

To ensure that Service Users’ care plans are developed to meet the assessed needs of the individual under the guidelines of Effective Care Coordination, including effective care pathways for Service Users and Carers.

To be a point of contact for Service Users and families if they have any concerns about their care, to listen to their concerns and employ highly developed communication skills, to offer reassurance or negotiate solution.

To employ well-established communication skills to relay sensitive or contentious information to staff, Service Users or their carers.

To use well-established verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact with staff, Service Users or their families where there may be barriers to understanding due to high levels of emotion or resistance.

To provide verbal or written reports as requested by other departments or the Crisis Lead on a variety of issues, e.g. complaints, incidents or investigations.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Dip SW/CQSW or Dip COT SROT
  • Evidence of post-graduate professional qualification, PSI Cert/diploma

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Experience of leading a team of Mental Health Practitioners
  • Experience of clinical practice and Care within the community setting.
  • Evidence of experience of working a range of people with mental health problems in a variety of health care settings
  • Experience of working with carers, families and service users in community settings.
  • Experience of providing Clinical Supervision.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of budgetary management
  • 2 – 3 years at Band 6 or above
  • Experience of Crisis Intervention
  • Risk assessment experience
  • Proficient IT Skills
