Job overview

We are looking to recruit  a Receptionist within the Radiology and Cardiorespiratory team at Southport and Ormskirk District General Hospital. 

The post holder will be expected to be flexible and rotate across Southport and Ormskirk Hospital sites when needed and work across both the Radiology and Cardiorespiratory departments on both sites.

The post holder will be responsible for the registration of patients, booking patient appointments, general reception duties, and any other administration duties.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide clerical support to the Southport and Ormskirk Radiology & Cardiorespiratory Department.

The post holder will be required to work across both sites of the Radiology & Cardiorespiratory Department service where necessary.

This will also include reception duties at various locations, data input, record management, booking service users into the CRIS & Careflow Patient Administration Systems and assisting in the day to day running of 
the reception.

The post holder will deal pleasantly with clients, members of the public and staff.

Education and Qualifictaions

Essential criteria
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent experience in Maths and English
  • Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or TLM equivalent experience of using Microsoft Office Software Packages

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with the public, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Previous receptionist or administrative experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS or similar Health Care Setting

Skills/Ability

  • Reference to interpersonal skills
