Job overview
This role will be to lead and supervise the Patient Care Advisors. You will be required to:
- Monitor workloads
- Offering support to ensure patients are booked by clinical priority, RTT and other national operational targets
- Escalation point for breach patients and clinic capacity issues etc.
- To ensure Trust operational targets are met and managed within the team
- To run daily reports for phone monitoring, managing of urgent and cancer referrals, unused slots and non-actioned reports.
- To escalate any issues to PAC Manager/Divisions
- To represent the department at performance assurance meetings
Main duties of the job
Supervise staff ensuring the fair distribution of the workload and maximise efficiency of the Patient Care Advisors and PAS admin staff, prioritising and delegating work as necessary to team, working under pressure and dealing with non-routine situations. Ensure all outpatient referrals are registered within a timely manner. Ensure adequate cover on the telephone rota. Monitor the accurate and timely inputting of information onto the Patient Administration System ensuring all satellite outpatient clinic outcomes are reconciled for month end reporting.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- ECDL certificate or equivalent
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- IHRIM Foundation Certificate
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
- Previously worked in administrative role without the need for direct supervision.
- Experience of accurate and timely data entry
- Experienced PAS user.
- Supervision of staff
- Recruitment & Selection
- Appraisal procedure
Desirable criteria
- Experienced iCS PAS user.
- Experience working in a Patient Access Centre.
