Band 7 Occupational Therapist in Hyperacute and Complex Rehabilitation.
An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to support our clinical lead in leading our team of Occupational Therapists in Hyperacute and Complex Rehabilitation at The Walton Centre, Liverpool as part of The Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network
We are seeking a suitably experienced, well-motivated and dynamic occupational therapist who is able to demonstrate a range Occupational Therapy skills to join our team. To work within an established multi-professional team to provide specialist Occupational Therapy services, within the field of Neuroscience, major trauma and rehabilitation. To lead and support the development of the Occupational Therapy Service within the wider The Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network
Main duties of the job
You will have extensive clinical experience and skills working with individuals who have complex presentations and/or neurological conditions including those which fall under Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness. Be able to work within an established multi-professional team and an effective team player, who possessors leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills and commitment to continuing professional development and will provide training and supervision to junior staff and undergraduate/pre-registration students

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapist
- Registered member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy and the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Professional Practice Educators qualification or similar.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Post Grad education or training specific and applicable to complex rehabilitation
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive clinical experience in neurological and functional rehabilitation
- Awareness of BSRM standards for rehabilitation and application to practice
- Knowledge of current NHSE/DOH guidance and quality indicators
- Ability to provide specialist high quality clinical intervention that is evidence based.
- Extensive practical experience in the assessment and prescription of specialist equipment , wheelchairs and seating
- Experience in the manufacture and provision of splints and orthotics
- Evidence of high level problem solving and decision making skills.
- Take an active role within a multidisciplinary team and promotes the role of OT
- Evidence of Clinical Audit, Innovation and research activity
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of clinical governance and its application within Occupational Therapist / Rehabilitation.
