An exciting opportunity has arisen on Chavasse ward to recruit 2 band 5 registered nurses to work within a 29 bedded neurology ward . This is a inpatient area who want to welcome successful candidates, who are passionate, enthusiastic  and have a passion for acute and chronic neurology conditions. 

We are open 365 days year and work shift patterns days nights providing a service to our amazing patients and their relatives . If you want to join a exciting, friendly team and want to achieve high standards please complete a application. 

Main duties of the job

Participate in team nursing and when appropriate, organise the patients care 
.Escalate on the condition of patients,  medical instructions and implement as necessary.
. Ensure and  safeguard patient’s property and valuables.
. Participate in multi-disciplinary approach to the rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders.
. Participate in the training of other nursing staff, including basic and post basic learners in consultation with Sister/Charge Nurse wherever applicable.
. Undertake aspects of coordinators role 
. Be aware of, and adhere to, all the Trust policies and procedures and standards of care.
. Maintain high standards of nursing care and review these standards with the Ward Manager.
.Participate as a named nurse for  8-9 of patients.
 Assist  staff to understand their role in the unit team.
 Be aware of the economic use of ward equipment and stores.
 Ensure adequate security, administration, proper use and recording of dangerous drugs in accordance with hospital policy.
 Ensure up to date knowledge of new equipment being used.
 Furthering own professional development by ensuring that own clinical and professional knowledge is widened and enriched by attending study days and seminars as arranged through the in-service training officers.
 Ensure confidentiality at all times. The post holder’s attention is drawn to the Data Protection Act 1984.
 Ensure that the Control of Infection Guidelines are adhered to at all times.
