Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to start your career within training and development at The Walton Centre! As an Education Administrator, you will have the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Learning & Development Practitioner Apprenticeship, whilst working in a busy Training & Development Office, supporting the administration of the function and developing your skills in facilitation and delivery.
You will learn all aspects of the Training & Development function at a specialist Trust, renowned for the support and development of its staff and will work in an established and supportive Team.
Main duties of the job
The Education Administrator will play an integral role within the integrated Education Department, primarily supporting Training & Development, in particular the vocational learning element of the function and ensuring that a consistent and effective approach is taken to administration across the Team, as well as providing administrative support to the core T&D function. The post holder will become confident in developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Adhering to and maintaining robust administrative procedures, particularly in relation to the Trust study leave process, the Education Administrator will ensure all policies and procedures are followed and that study leave applications are processed in a timely and effective manner.
Supporting the Vocational Learning Coordinator in relation to the administration of work experience programmes, pre-employment and apprenticeships as well as study leave for existing staff, the Education Administrator will develop a full understanding of the development of employees at all levels.
Contributing to the running of the Education Centre, the Apprentice Education Administrator will support with facilities enquiries and the provision of an effective service for internal and external customers. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively will enable the post holder to manage a varied workload.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level 2 functional skills (or recognized equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to complete
Desirable criteria
- Completion of the Level 3 Learning & Development Practitioner Apprenticeship in the duration of the contract
Knowledge and Education
Essential criteria
- Understanding of what is involved in working in a complex administration environment and managing a range of tasks, for example: • Accurate data inputting • Dealing with queries • Working to deadlines
- Experience of working or studying within an education setting
- Ability monitoring resources and/or expenditure and order stock/equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of the NHS

- Previous administrative experience
Skills &Attributes
Essential criteria
- IT skills in Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel and Powerpoint with experience of using electronic data bases
- Organised, with the ability to deal with a wide range of tasks and meet deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to prioritise own workload to meet the requirements of the whole department
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to use initiative and assess incoming queries / issues to decide the best way to deal with and when to escalate as appropriate
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide and receive sensitive and contentious information whilst using tact and diplomacy
- Confidence and willingness to speak / deliver in group situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
