The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust provides highly-specialist cancer care for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.

In June 2020, we opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool, our spectacular new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, providing state-of-the-art facilities as part of a £162m investment. Alongside our flagship hospital in Liverpool, we also have two other main cancer centres:

  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral, providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care on the Clatterbridge Health Campus in Bebington, Wirral
  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree, our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree University Hospital site

Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies.

We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service, are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers, and host the region's Teenage and Young Adult Unit.

Working with leading experts from the University of Liverpool, we strive to stay at the forefront of novel treatments and techniques to deliver more effective and personalised treatments.

Main duties of the job

Pharmacy Procurement Assistant

The Pharmacy is equipped with a £1.7m purpose built department consisting of licensed aseptic production and gene therapy preparation facilities. It is a friendly, forward thinking and dynamic department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Assistant with either an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Practice , or an NVQ Level 2 Diploma, although, if not possessed, this may be offered to the right candidate. This will, however, be reflected in your initial banding. There will be the opportunity to register with the chartered institute of procurement and supply (CIPS) to work towards a level 2 certificate in procurement and supply operations.

You will be a good team player, possess good people and organisational skills, be able to work alone as well as in a team, and able to work under pressure in this environment. The successful candidate will be part of the pharmacy procurement team and responsible for maintaining departmental stocks of medicines and consumable items including procurement, receipt and storage.

If you want to be part of a fantastic team and help support the Trust with our vision for providing the best cancer care in the country, then we want to hear from you.

Working for our organisation
