Pharmacy Cleanroom Supervisor  - Aseptic Services

 Band 4 (37.5hrs/week)

Hours will be between  8.00am and 6.00pm (Monday to Friday with a rolling day off) and weekend cover will be on a rota basis 

This is an ideal opportunity for an  enthusiastic and forward thinking candidate who has the necessary skills and experience to be able to supervise the continuing delivery of a high level of service while the department is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. 

You will play an integral role in preparation of aseptic products, supervision of staff, organisation of workload and ensuring procedural adherence in the clean room. You will ensure that staff are complying with EU-GMP principles while working under your supervision and escalate deviations appropriately. You will also have involvement in the implementation of a training program to educate all staff members on EU-GMP principles.

The successful candidate must be able to show that they have experience in a similar capacity, and have good knowledge of aseptic preparation. The individual must have good communication skills, and the ability to motivate others is required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

To supervise the day to day operation of aseptic preparation in cleanrooms ensuring the safe, efficient and timely delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT)  treatments.

To take responsibility of all activity within the cleanroom during a preparation session, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Policies.

Monitoring the work flow within the cleanroom and directing staff duties accordingly.

Duties will be predominantly concerned with the direct supervision of clean room staff and activities; including assembly, preparation and dispensing of SACT.

Qulaifications

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSE's ( or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • ILM level 3 diploma in leadership and management - achieved or will work towards in post
  • Must have NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Practice with or able to achieve additional NVQ unit 9 (dispensing module) / Unit 8 NVQ Level 2 Diploma (dispensing module).
  • Willingness to undertake further training if offered/ required
Desirable criteria
  • GCP qualification or willingness to undertake

Knowledge and Expertise:

  • GMP and dispensing principles

Experience
