Job overview

Are you an enthusiastic, experienced radiographer who wishes to enhance their career path at a leading cancer hospital?  Owing to significant expansion of the service, we are seeking to appoint  a talented radiographer to support our Radiology service across our sites at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool City Centre, and Wirral when required - you will be key in providing the best possible experience for our patients.

We are a proactive and dynamic team and welcome fresh ideas and perspectives. It is essential that team members bring a positive energy, enthusiasm and commitment to improving patient care and experience whilst providing specialist cancer imaging for outpatients and inpatients for both haemato-oncology and solid tumour sites.  We also have a Community Diagnostic Centre in Liverpool City Centre.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality patient centred care and will demonstrate clinical skills that provide the highest standards possible. Demonstrating a level of competency in line with the Radiology department’s competency frameworks and taking responsibility for your own personal development – supported by the senior team.

You will be required to work autonomously and demonstrate the ability to prioritise your own work in-line with clinical need, exhibiting excellent organisational skills.

As a team player, adaptability and effective communication skills are essential. Sharing the responsibility for the supervision and teaching of students, less experienced staff and colleagues as appropriate.

You will be proficient in the use of the Radiology Information System (CRIS) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS).

NHS experience within an oncology setting will be advantageous.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • DCR/BSc Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate Qualification in specialised imaging (CT/MRI/Nuc Med or PET/CT)
  • Training in development of supervisory skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of specialised imaging with proven expertise
Desirable criteria
  • Proven interest in Oncology and Trials
  • NHS Experience
  • Computer literate – Windows, Microsoft Office and other software applications
