Job overview

 

We are looking for 

  • One’ Library assistant’ volunteer for Walton
  • Two ‘learning session’ volunteers ( across Liverpool and Sefton)
  • One ‘meet and greet’ volunteers ( across Liverpool and Sefton) 

The role of Life Rooms Volunteer is to welcome all visitors to Trust premises in a warm and friendly manner, helping to create a reassuring and              friendly environment.

Volunteers will need to be familiar with the Life Rooms offer and be able to assist people visiting the sites with:

·       Enrolment onto learning courses

·       Guiding attendees to the learning classrooms

·       Guiding attendees to Pathway Appointments

·       Support IT access

·       In Walton Life Rooms only, assisting attendees to access books from the library

 

  A background in customer services would be an advantage

Main duties of the job

 

•    Welcome and engage with all visitors to the Life Rooms in a warm and friendly manner 
•    Answer face to face enquiries and provide information about The Life Rooms and the day-to-day programmes on offer
•    Keep the reception and main areas tidy and presentable
•    Assist members of the public with IT access
•    Shelve resources and general tidying
•    Engage with members of the Life Rooms whilst in the waiting area

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


•    Understanding of The Life Rooms model and its day to day provision 
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills 
•    Comfortable with using IT 
•    Respectful of individuals’ confidentiality 
•    Understanding of personal and professional boundaries 
•    Ability to work flexibly as part of a team, with minimal supervision
•    Experience of working with people from mental health, addictions or learning disability services would be an advantage
