Within Respiratory Medicine, we have a wide and varied range of sub-specialities available including the opportunity to develop an EBUS service along with an interventional bronchoscopy service and our collaboration with Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital as part of our Lung Cancer Programme means we can offer you experience to collaborate and develop contacts outside of our own hospital.

We are able to offer flexible working conditions which include DCC sessions from home and our mid term plans incorporate a designated Respiratory Research Hub.

Main duties of the job

With the move into our newly built state of the art hospital we are aspiring to deliver better and improved services to Asthma patients across the city.  The new hospital will have a purpose-built respiratory support unit with 10 negatively pressured rooms co located with Acute and Emergency Medicine to enable rapid access to treatment.

The right applicants will be joining us at an exciting time for our Trust and would gain invaluable experience within a university teaching hospital.

Working for our organisation

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
