Rotational MSK B6 clinicians required for our fast paced, dynamic city centre acute teaching hospitals. MSK experience and clinical knowledge is essential. Rotations are based at our three main hospital sites and off site locations and are predominantly in outpatients.

Full and part time applicants considered.

Our rotations are within the following areas, upper limb, lower limb, spines, general MSK outpatients, inpatient orthopaedics-Elective and Trauma, limb reconstruction service (inpatient and outpatient), rheumatology.

We also offer services in Hydrotherapy, weight management and our prosthetic and wheelchair service.

Our MSK team work within primary, secondary and tertiary clinical pathways. These pathways cover trauma and elective care as well as managing direct GP referrals to Physiotherapy and our MSK assessment service (MCAS). Our clinical teams are  well respected and seen as an integral part of clinical care working alongside Orthopaedic Pain and Rheumatology Consultants.

This role requires application of clinical knowledge gained from a breadth of experience across a range of clinical areas. You will be involved in the supervision and support of junior staff, student education, research and audit. Participation in the respiratory on-call service will be discussed at interview and will be dependent on recent experience.

Applicants need to demonstrate good communication, time-management and interpersonal skills.

They must be motivated and able to work efficiently both alone and as part of a team.

Flexibility is essential to meet the changing needs of the service. This includes delivering a 7 day service where required.

Staff will need to be able to work in a range of locations across the city and in a range of services on a rotational basis.

Rotations are led by staff choice in conjunction with  their learning needs whilst maintaining a safe and effective service.

To undertake physiotherapy assessment, clinically diagnose and implement agreed treatment plans, evaluate care delivery according to health care needs for routine and complex patients.

To be responsible for the supervision of Physiotherapists, Students and Assistants on a daily basis.

To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload to meet service and patient priorities.

To ensure effective communication with patients, carers and all other Health & Social Care Professionals regarding all aspects of patient care. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating.

To represent Physiotherapy Service at Multidisciplinary Meetings to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated Multidisciplinary Service.

To contribute to the operational management of the Team, under the supervision of a Team Leader Physiotherapists. This may include deputising for them in their absence.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registration

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience as a Physiotherapist in the NHS or Healthcare Service and be able to demonstrate awareness of current NHS and trust issues
  • Majority of clinical experience in the NHS or the Health Service
  • Broad range of clinical assessment and treatment skills based on current best practice
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge
