Job overview
We are looking for an individual to join the Pharmacy based Aseptic Services team. We have a highly regarded Aseptic Production Unit (APU) at the Trust and a brand new site at the Royal Liverpool. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of support activities to the aseptic production service.

Main duties of the job
To assist and provide support within the effective and efficient day to day operations of the aseptic service: -
• Parenteral Nutrition
• Chemotherapy
• Intravenous Additive Service
In accordance with departmental safe systems of work.
Carry out Environmental procedures, to include transfer disinfection ans the following; -
• Daily readings in both set up and clean room.
• Refrigerator temperature readings.
• Weekly settle plates and swabs.
• Cleaning duties.
In a timely manner ensuring all documentation is fully completed, filed and stored correctly.
Ensure that the aseptic process is carried out in compliance with current Standard Operating Procedures following the principles of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Ensure that the aseptic process is carried out in compliance with current Standard
Operating Procedures following the principles of the Good Manufacturing Practice
(GMP).
To report immediately any error or event which falls outside procedure to the SeniorATO or Senior Technicians.
To participate in the safe disposal of drugs with particular regard to departmental procedures.
Carry out basic computer duties including generation of labels.
Participate in training, highlight any training needs and undertake Continuing Personal Development (CPD).
To participate in, and co-operate with, individual personal assessment and continuing education programmes in order to keep abreast of pharmaceutical matters and legislative changes which affect pharmacy.
To participate in development and project work in line with the objectives of the Trust and Pharmacy Directorate.
Together with other members of staff ensure that procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and regulations in respect of the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and that other pertinent recommendations and standards are complied with.
To carry out portering when required and use of pharmacy tracker system.
To participate and co-operate in Bank Holiday, Statutory Holiday, weekend, early morning and evening services as per departmental arrangements.
To undertake such reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.
The post holder will be expected to adapt to changes that may occur, which may affect the current practices within the Pharmacy Department, such as the introduction of new equipment, procedures, policies and hours of working.
To ensure that total confidentiality throughout the Trust is upheld at all times..

* The post holder shall follow all the policies and procedures of the organisation.

- Aseptic Services experience - not essential as full training will be given
- Awareness and ability to manage own time and forward plan

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
