Staff Nurse - Nephrology (WARD 7C)
Band 5
Job overview
Ward 7C is a 27 bedded Nephrology ward caring for patients mainly with chronic renal failure including Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis modalities. 8 of these beds are the Regional Acute Kidney Care Unit caring for patients acutely unwell in a high dependency setting. We have also opened up an assessment area called Renal Assessment Unit to see and treat patients via same day emergency care model to help reduce ED attendance with Renal issues that would not require admission normally.
We are looking for an enthusiastic staff nurse with experience in an acute ward setting who are interested in renal disease to join our team on a 6 month fixed term basis. This would be a great opportunity to learn about Renal disease and enhance your knowledge.
You must be enthusiastic, a good communicator, possess good organisational skills as well as the ability to work well in a team.
Haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.
Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse
The postholder will always work within the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct
