Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.
We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

Job overview
The primary purpose of the Deputy Finance Business Partner is to provide the Finance Business Partners, Senior Finance Business Partners and Divisional SMT with support to meet the Trust's statutory reporting requirements and deadlines in line with Finance Policy and Procedure’s.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Finance Business Partners, the post holder will develop and produce information to support accurate and timely monthly performance reports for presentation at service meetings and to feed into the Trusts position for internal and external corporate reporting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be a proactive and highly motivated, CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant, with post qualification experience, with strong IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
Under the guidance of the Finance Business Partner, the Deputy Finance Business Partner will need:
- To lead on all aspects of financial management of the Division to ensure financial viability
- To oversee the preparation of divisional budgets in accordance with guidelines and deadlines provided by the Director of Finance

Experience

- • Proven NHS financial management experience
- • Ability to review and interpret financial statements
- • Experience of working with managers/professionals

Knowledge

- • Sound knowledge of current NHS FT Finance regime
- • Sound knowledge of N.H.S. financial / costing systems and guidance
- • Sound knowledge of N.H.S Business Case process
