Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.

We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

Job overview

To  join our team delivering a full cleaning service within Alder Hey Trust in accordance with the Alder Hey Cleaning Policy and the procedures detailed.

Main duties of the job

Ensure a clean environment (clinical and non-clinical areas) for patients and all other users of Trust premises General cleaning duties including the regular cleaning of floors, sanitary areas, damp cleaning fixtures and other hard surfaces

Other periodic cleaning duties such as high dusting, deep cleaning fixtures, changing curtains etc according to the required schedule

Working for our organisation

We have a variety of shifts available between the hours of 1500 hrs - 2200 hrs, 7 days per week.

Contracted hours ranging from 16 - 30 hrs per week.

Shift times

1500hrs - 2000hrs (25hrs per week)

1600hrs - 2000hrs (20hrs per week)

1700hrs - 2000hrs (16hrs per week)

1700hrs - 2100hrs (20hrs per week)

1700hrs- 2200hrs (25hrs per week)

 

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness to comply with the current National Cleaning Standards and any other relevant guidance

2. Make own judgement on routine cleaning duties, working within Trust policies and procedures.

3. Use Trust issued chemicals, materials and equipment (including pushing cleaning machinery) in accordance with training provided

4. Have knowledge and comply with Trust policies and procedures and in particular Infection Prevention and Control and Health and Safety Policies

Person specification

• Experience of working in a similar role (cleaning or catering).
