Fire Safety Advisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Fire Safety Advisor to join a high performing and motivated Risk and Governance team. This is truly an exciting time to be joining this outstanding service and organisation.
The Fire Safety Advsior will provide specialist fire safety guidance and competent advice to senior management and the Trust Board to ensure the Trust is able to meet its statutory obligations under the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and any other relevant legislation or guidance. Maintaining an adequate level of fire precautions within Trust premises.
This post provides a fabulous opportunity for the right person to shine and make a brilliant contribution to both the department and The Walton Centre.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The post holder will work closely with the Risk & Governance and Estates & Facilities departments, senior management teams and departmental managers in order to ensure the provision of a fire safe environment for patients/staff/visitors and to facilitate sustained/improved patient care and wellbeing.
The Fire Safety Advisor will ensure that risk assessments are undertaken at appropriate intervals, inspections are undertaken, staff training is delivered and there is effective liaison with external agencies including Mersey Fire & Rescue Service.

Qualifications

- Graduate Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience
- Qualified Training Instructor
- Specialist Fire Safety Courses e.g. Fire Service College or Equivalent
Meini prawf dymunol
- Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers
- NEBSS or equivalent
- NEBOSH general certificate/CMIOSH
- CFPA Diploma in Fire Prevention
- Member of the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers
Knowledge & Experience

- Extensive Fire Safety experience
- Experience of training development and delivery
- Thorough knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation and relevant Codes of Practice/Fire Risk Assessment process/training techniques

- Experience of Fire Safety in a Healthcare environment
- Management Experience
- Understanding of Fire Modelling and Fire Engineering techniques
- Knowledge of audit processes/Firecode/ Health and Safety legislation
- Experience of Hospital Fire Evacuation
- Risk Management techniques and processes
- Use of DATIX risk management system
