Job overview

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre are looking to recruit a self motivated,  experienced, Clinical Systems Administrator who will be working to further improve patient care by providing high quality Clinical System development. This is an 18 Month fixed term contract to support the implementation of Patient Portal

The post holder will be expected to work directly under the leadership of the Clinical System Administration Manager to design, build and implement the clinical, clerical and reporting aspects of the EPR System, in addition to other supporting clinical systems.

The post holder will be a key stakeholder in managing the safe delivery of clinical systems, contributing to the Trusts’ Digital and Data Strategy and supporting the overall Digital Maturity of the organisation. 

The team is Wirral based  with the opportunity for hybrid working at home and on site  following training and a probation  period.  Although you are Wirral based there will times that you will be asked to travel to our other CCC sites in line with business needs.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Clinical Systems Administrator Work will focus on proactive system configuration of the Trust's EPR Meditech, including development; testing; reporting; system support and trouble shooting. A good understanding of oncology and the Patient Journey/Pathway would be a definite advantage as would previous experience of modules of the Trust EPR.

The primary focus of this role, is to optimise manual business processes, collate and analyse clinical and non-clinical data to develop an electronic system design. This will require good communication and engagement skills to hold in depth conversations with both clinical and non-clinical users. 

This post holder will be required to develop or build upon extensive system configuration knowledge to both maintain and develop clinical systems at CCC. This will include thorough system testing, accurate recording of changes and working in close partnership with other digital teams colleagues and where required 3rd party suppliers.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience in IT systems/applications administration with additional proven experience of NHS specialised business and clinical information systems experience
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation qualification in project management or equivalent experience
  • Relevant business analysis or technical / Informatics qualification

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Developing and maintaining hardware and software documentation
  • Knowledge of project management methodology
  • Workstation installation and where appropriate trouble shooting hardware including peripherals
  • A good working knowledge of structured testing processes and documentation
  • Appropriate knowledge relating to NHS confidentiality and security legislation
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of CCC EPR system, MEDITECH
  • Awareness of NHS data definitions and corporate reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act Information Security Management Knowledge of ITIL – Service level agreement metric
