We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic, friendly, hard working nursing team within the interventional aspect of our pain management service. The post holder will be responsible for caring for patients throughout their day case journey. This includes pre-operative assessment, admission to the department, perioperative period, recovery, and discharge planning. Applicants should ideally have experience within an acute care setting, theatre, recovery, or day case unit. An essential part of the role will be to wear led gowns/aprons whilst working in the theatre environment.
A competency-based training programme will be provided to the successful candidate and local training on all procedures carried out within the department. You will need to be flexible; self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills. The post holder will be a team player who is committed to the challenges of maintaining our high quality standards of care for all our patients within this ever growing specialty. Your on-going professional development will be actively encouraged and supported. Working days and shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.

Role summary:
The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of the care of patients undergoing interventional procedures, including pre-operative assessment, in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
The post holder will act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students and Trainee Nursing Associates. The post holder will work predominantly in an area of the interventional procedures within the Pain Centre although may be asked to work in other areas within the Directorate including multi-site working.
The post holder will undertake any other duties which are deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Senior Staff.
