Job overview

The role of this post is to support Wythenshawe/Trafford/Withington and Altrincham Hospitals in the delivery of care for outpatient and inpatient dermatological patients.  Although there will be no on-call commitment, it will be expected that the successful applicant will contribute to dermatology inpatient care across all sites.

The appointee will join a team of consultants, specialty doctors, GPSI and Specialist Nurses to provide dermatology services.  The Dermatology Department is undergoing a transformational change and is rapidly expanding.  Having recently developed a five year vision statement which included developing sub-specialty interests within the department.  

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow in Dermatology.   The candidate must have a desire to work in the field of medicine ideally dermatology with an understanding of the complexities of this population.

The posts are suitable for doctors who have completed Foundation or Core Medical Training.   This post is for 12 months.    

Applicants must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold a current GMC license to practice and be eligible to work in the UK. They must have a minimum of two years postgraduate medical experience with either current employment in a UKFPO - affiliated Foundation programme or 12 months experience post full GMC registration and evidence of achievement of foundation competencies. A current Advanced Life Support Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.

Attainments

Essential criteria
  • Fully registered medical practitioner with licence to practice

  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or working towards this or equivalent
